My team and I developed a service project called “Humans of Manatee.” This project focused on our underlying problem:
Due to the fact that many community members are unaware that approximately 5,000 people are homeless in Manatee County, how might we engage with the homeless community (including experts) so that our community efforts address the articulated needs of the homeless population in the year 2015 and beyond?
The logo is the culmination of our underlying problem. Divided amongst three colors, each letter is identifiable through hands that form letters. Each letter serves a symbolic purpose from left to right: Bridging the gap, Outreach, and Giving Back. Our “Say Hi! Homeless are Humans” campaign embodies many elements from the logo as well.
